Q:How do you feel after deciding to hold FM in Japan?
PSH: I’m really excited when I first heard of it. It’s really happy to be able to hold Heartstrings FM in Japan. I’m looking forward to this with much anticipation, and because I hope to see the fans as soon as possible…It’s been a long wait~
PART1: LIVE STAGE
Q: From <Arirang>, <Ready for the battle?> to <Give Me a Smile>, you’ve perform 3 songs in a row, what’s your perception for each of these songs?
PSH: I think <Arirang> comes to the mind of anyone who first learned the gayageum. This applies to me as well. First of all, Gyu Won majors in gayageum in the drama. Secondly, it’s an opportunity for everyone to learn more about Korean Traditional music. Due to all these reasons, I’ve chosen <Arirang> as the first song for my performance. The other 2 songs <Ready for the battle?> and <Give Me a smile> were specially prepared today since both songs were played by Gyu Won in Heartstrings. All the memories of filming Heartstrings surfaced while I started practicing gayageum again, which I’m reminiscing hopelessly.
Q: You’ve performed with Windflower in today’s performance, how’s the feeling?
PSH: It’s really happy to be able to perform with the seniors of Windflower. Actually the seniors have other schedules, but they have specially made time to accompany me to attend the FM, I’m really grateful to them, and it’s really ecstatic to perform with them in Japan. I’m looking forward to their future development
Q: Yong Hwa perform straight after Shin Hye’s performance, how do you feel watching by the side?
PSH: He’s indeed destructive when playing the guitar. The acting Yong Hwa & the guitar playing Yong Hwa does look like two completely different people~
PART 2: SIEVED CONVERSATION
Setting off a climax in the sieved conversation, there’s lots of reserved questions besides those which you’ve answered. Let’s us explore slightly into those questions.
Q: Firstly, the memories in the drama, joyful & difficult events etc..is there any incident that has left a deep impression on you?
PSH: Rather than citing one event, it’s more appropriate to say that each and every filming day are precious memories to me. Acting with many same-aged groups of actors/actresses, the studio is always full of co-operative working atmosphere with the aim of doing the best for the drama. Every actor/actress is full of enthusiasm, particularly energetic. Regardless of instrumental, dance or jokes…It’s full of enthusiasm in whatever is poured in.
Q: Please tell us which are your favourite lines (in the drama) and the reason for liking it?
PSH: Erm….this ah…I’ve given into much thoughts to it..Compared to the delicate lines, I’ve deeper impression for the scenes of the drama. My favourite scene is Lee Shin & Gyu Won seeking shelter together in front of a café.
Q: Next will be the “Secret” Topic - [The scene that I can’t resist having feelings for Yong Hwa even though I know it’s only acting]
PSH: This is a rather tough question. Hence, my reply is all the great scenes of him~~ (Laugh). In this drama, there’s a lot of singing performance scenes, so Yong Hwa has sang a lot of songs..Haha~ these performance scenes are rather impressive~
Q: Next is still the “Secret” topic [ Yong Hwa’s secret which only I know] In the FM, you have mentioned Yong Hwa’s strengths, saying that he’s polite, well-mannered and charismatic. When do you actually feel all these in reality?
PSH: Yong Hwa has an innocent/naïve and romantic personality. He’s totally engrossed and will focus fully in the things that he’s interested in. This is the charm of Yong Hwa, portraying his true character of diligence and full of enthusiasm. Also, a simple praise for Yong Hwa can make him jump with joy (high spirit)~ (laugh) I guess you will understand all these when you watch the making (of Heartstrings)
Q: [To be truthful, my ideal type of guy is someone not of the character - Lee Shin?] Shin Hye has mentioned before that you prefer Jun Hee rather than Lee Shin. So, in which part of the drama do you feel Jun Hee’s charisma?
PSH: When Jun Hee is drinking yakult/yogurt alone, calling Hee Joo onni, getting close to Hee Joo etc…there are too many scenes that describe Jun Hee’s cute characteristic. I can really feel his charisma whenever I saw all those scenes.
Q: During the FM [ Yong Hwa said that always perspiring during filming due to the hot weather has left a deep impression on him] So, besides the hot weather, which other scenes or events do you feel is challenging while filming?
PSH: There were too many rainy days while filming, hence, a lot of scenes are forced to change to indoor locations when it should be outdoors. This is the let-down part while shooting due to constraints of tight schedule and nasty weather. The desired results of shooting should have been under the clear blue sky of summer. It is much regrettable that many parts were changed to indoor shooting.
PART 3: SCENES THAT FANS LIKED
Q: The favourite scenes chosen by fans are all exquisite, what do you think? Is it what you have chosen too?
1st: Lee Shin making a shooting star wishes at MT
2nd: Kissing at Catharsis
3rd: Back-hugged in school
PSH: All the scenes chosen by fans are so romantic~ There’s a feeling of shyness while shooting many of those chosen scenes~ (Laugh)
Q: Which is Shin Hye’s favourite scene in the drama?
PSH: My favourite scene is Kyu Won and Lee Shin seeking shelter in front of a café from rain. Especially the part where both of them stretched out their hands, looking at the raindrops
Q: Why do you like this scene?
PSH: Because I feel that this scene is displaying Shin’s & Gyu won’s hearts being interlinked, and has a tacit gesture of mutual belonging. Even though there’s neither speech nor expression showing it, but there’s a feeling of the two drawing closer to each other through this act.
Q: Is there any lines that you feel is embarrassing even though you know that it’s just acting?
PSH: Erm….I’ve given much thoughts to this…but there’s really no such lines~
Q: Among all the fictional characters, who matches Shin Hye’s personality the most?
PSH: To think…It’s still Gyu Won~
Q: Why is it that Gyu Won is closest to your personality?
PSH: Not only Gyu Won. Till date, all the characters acted by me, more or less has some similar traits of me. If it’s a role which I have no confidence in, the level of difficulty to act well will increase. Therefore, I feel that you will see some of my traits in all the characters which I have acted in so far.
Q: If we were to say the similarity between you and Gyu Won, what will it be?
PSH: Cheerfulness, and energetic part?
PART 4: RE-ENACT ROUNDS
Q: During the re-enact on the part of [Holding hands to school after confirming each other’s feelings] scene, the participating fans have included their own ab-libs, which ab-libs (by fans) does Shin Hye like most?
PSH: The ab-libs by everyone are fantastic. There’s one who said in a very low voice “ I can’t do so?”… this has left a deep impression~
PART 5: AFTER THE END OF FANS MEETING
Q: This FM has ended smoothly & successfully, how do you feel?
PSH: Really had a great time having all the fun~ being able to enjoy such memorable moments with so many friends. It’s really an event full of gratitude and bliss.
Q: Please say something to Emcee Furuya who has been “heating up” the FM, and having good rapport with both of you during the FM~

Q: Looking back at [Heartstrings], what does it represents to you?
PSH: It’s a meaningful piece of work which I have the greatest sense of responsibility as an actress till date
Q: This drama is also broadcasting in Japan now, how’s your feeling?
PSH: It’s like a dream when YAB was being broadcasted here, now that Heartstrings is also broadcasted, there are lots of happiness and blissful feel, it’s particularly ecstatic~

PSH: Please give me lots of love from now on~ In order to present myself beautifully as an actress in any occasion & in front of everyone.. I will work even harder~ Thank you!
