K-Drama Actors Born In The Year Of The Horse

The Chinese zodiac follows a 12-year rotation, so as of the 31st of January, it will officially be the Year of The Horse. Those born in the year of the horse are said to be enthusiastic, independent and loyal. They can also be impatient and stubborn but even those qualities can be a plus in the entertainment business, as stars have to work hard to succeed.

Given that it's their year coming up, which k-drama actors born in the Year of The Horse can be expected to shine this year? Horses count quite a few celebrities and rising stars among their ranks, including Park Shin Hye, Go Ara, Kang Sora, Baek Jin Hee, Girls Generation's Sooyoung and Yoona, Ha Yeon Soo, Shin Se Kyung, 2PM's Chansung and F.T. Island's Lee Hongki.
Perhaps no star born in the Year of the Horse has a better shot at success this year than Park Shin Hye. After appearing in "Flower Boys Next Door" and "The Heirs," the award-winning actress is poised to play a queen in the historical film "The Tailors." In the film's storyline the fate of an entire nation will be influenced by changing fashions.
Surprisingly, in a recent poll by online community site DC Inside, fans did not pick Park Shin Hye as the most anticipated star born in the Year of The Horse. The star that fans expected the most from next was Go Ara.  She came in first place with 52.5 percent of the votes due to her popularity in "Reply 1994. Park Shin Hye came in second with only 26.3 percent of the votes while Yoona came in third with 11.3 percent of the vote.
Other Year of the Horse stars that have highly anticipated plans this year include:
Shin Se Kyung. After playing the two-timing object of Song Seung Hoon's affections in the drama "When A Man Loves," the young actress will be seen in the film "Tazza 2." She co-stars with BigBang's T.O.P.
Baek Jin Hee. The actress is attracting plenty of attention for her role as the scheming empress in the hit historical drama "Empress Ki," which has more than two-dozen episodes to go.
Lee Hongki  The F.T. Island singer recently appeared in the film "Passionate Goodbye" but he's due back in a fantasy drama titled "Hundred Year Bride."
Chansung. 2PM's Hwang Chansung, who appeared in "Level 7 Civil Servant," has a role in the film "Red Carpet." It's his first film and he plays a high school troublemaker.

Are you looking forward to these stars' efforts in The Year of the Horse?

Park Shin Hye To Wear A Crown

After interacting with the heirs who must bear the weight of the crown in "The Heirs," Park Shin Hye is ready to try on a crown of her own.
The actress will play an aloof queen in the film "Sanguiwon," also known as "The Tailor's Office" or "The Tailors."
"We decided to choose "The Tailor's Office" because of the interesting theme of making clothes in the Joseon dynasty, as well as the charming characters and interesting scenes," said a representative of Park Shin Hye's agency S.A.L.T. Entertainment.
The 23-year-old actress has slowly been transitioning to more adult roles and her agency felt that this film was suitable.
"Viewers can expect to see a more mature Park Shin Hye in this film. The role will offer her a chance to demonstrate new acting skills."
Her character is a lonely queen, who has trouble expressing her emotions, but who also loves fine clothes.
The film's story focuses on two tailors, played by Han Suk Kyu and Go Soo. One is an accomplished artisan and the other is a young genius newcomer. The elder craftsman, played by Han Suk Kyu, has always been responsible for creating the royal wardrobe but Go Soo, who plays the younger tailor, wants to change all that.
While the efforts of tailors may not seem all that serious, their professional jealousy and competitive efforts will involve the king and queen in a potentially serious situation.
Part of the problem is that the king does not pay enough attention to his queen so she has lots of time to spend on her wardrobe and with the men who create it. Go Soo, who appeared in "Empire of Gold," provides an attractive diversion. If the queen decides that Go Soo is her favorite tailor, it will upset the order of the court.
Han Suk Gyu, who played King Sejong in "Deep Rooted Tree," will naturally be reluctant to give up his position as the royal dressmaker.
Yoo Yeon Suk, who plays Chilbong in "Reply 1994" has been cast as the king.
"It will be a heavy responsibility wearing the crown and playing the king," said Yoo Yeon Suk, "but I will do my best to express the character's charisma."
Silk Road, which produced the films "Werewolf Boy" and "The Chaser," will produce "The Tailor's Office." Lee Won Suk, who directed "Men: An Operating Manual," will direct. The film is currently in pre-production with plans to begin filming in late February.

'Cheongdamdong 111’ CNBLUE, the Love for Colleagues is so beautiful for this reason

A colleague who is walking along the same path, at times have to compete but they were always a friend and an adviser whom the true minds always worries about and shows considerations.
Jung Yong Hwa and Lee Jung Shin from a band CNBLUE showed their warm and kind minds by considering the colleagues and thinking about them. On the cable channel tvN reality program ‘Cheongdamdong 111’ that aired on the night of January 2nd, CNBLUE encouraging and showing considerations to Kwon Kwang Jin, who is a member of a rookie band N.FLYING in which their time to make the debut is just around a corner, was shown. He is a colleague who spent the years as a trainee together with CNBLUE.
On the show this day, the showcase site of N.FLYING, a rookie band from FNC Entertainment (an agency that formed CNBLUE and FTISLAND), have been revealed. However, until this showcase happened, they had to go through loads of trouble. N.FLYING whom their time for showcase has come close did not pass the random checkup by the representative of the agency while practicing and their showcase ended up being cancelled.
When the showcase that decides their debut was cancelled, N.FLYING was having a really hard time and there have been times when Kwon Kwang Jin went to share his worries to Jung Yong Hwa and Lee Jung Shin. They have a close relationship as they met when they were students with a same dream and have been sharing the worries of each other whenever their minds were filled with concerns. Kwon Kwang Jin went to Jung Yong Hwa and Lee Jung Shin to talk about the anxiety and concerns coming from the showcase being cancelled and these two people consoled him while giving numerous advice.
Lee Jung Shin especially paid attention to Kwon Kwang Jin. Back at the time when CNBLUE has made the debut, Kwon Kwang Jin was originally at place where Lee Jung Shin is right now, but because of the differences in the perspectives toward the music, the members have been switched. These two people honestly shared the situation and their thoughts back then and consoled and showed consideration to each other.
Jung Yong Hwa also especially valued the colleagues. Since he is a senior and a colleague who made a debut through the same process as N.FLYING, he was able to understand their thoughts well. At one time, Jung Yong Hwa warmly consoled Kwon Kwang Jin and he went to the representative and talked about the honest thoughts of the colleagues and requested him to think over about holding N.FLYING’s showcase. In the end, N.FLYING held their showcase and they wrapped up nicely by confirming their debut.
Jung Yong Hwa and Lee Jung Shin’s showing consideration, their special minds that think about the colleagues have touched lots of viewers and have aroused empathy among them. They dreamed about the same thing while growing together for a long time and there was a close bond that only the colleagues who had the same experience can have. Especially, the consideration and sincere minds of Jung Yong Hwa, who made it possible to hold the showcase again by visiting the representative as he knew about the sincere minds of colleagues and their capabilities , and an affectionate friendship were noticeable. I guess the colleagues are good for this reason.

The History Of Park Shin Hye's Kdrama Kisses

Flower Boys Next Door
The Heirs
Park Shin Hye recently spoke about her onscreen kisses with Lee Min Ho in "The Heirs." She mentioned being surprised in one kiss scene when she thought they were not going to touch lips only to have the director say that they were really going to kiss that time.
"I was really surprised," she said. "While we were shooting the scene, I grabbed Lee Min Ho's clothes. That's because I was so surprised and you can see it in the shot too."

She said that she does not have a lot of experience with drama kisses but if you look through her kdrama history, she has kissed enough stars to arouse most women's jealousy.
And fans may note that she often looked surprised when she was kissed in a drama.
Park Shin Hye began acting 10 years ago in "Stairway to Heaven" and has slowly transitioned to more grown-up roles. So she was already a veteran actress before she had to have her first onscreen kiss at age 16 with singer Se7en.
He was the first of many singers and actors to kiss her
Her next kisses took place during a commercial with Jang Geun Suk. She kissed him again in the drama "You're Beautiful." It started off with the kiss/bite that she drunkenly plants on him in an early scene. But then the kisses became less painful and more romantic. Clips of her filming their kissing scene on the balcony show that the stars were both a little embarrassed by their encounter and joked around to disguise it. When he finally kissed her, her eyes remained open for a long time. She often keeps her eyes open as if in shock when she gets kissed, although many women might have that reaction to being kissed by Jang Geun Suk.
In "Heartstrings," CNBlue's Jung Yong Hwa, her "You're Beautiful" co-star, gets another chance to win her heart. But when he first had to kiss her onscreen he got so embarrassed that he needed encouragement. She has said that her "You're Beautiful" co-stars thought of her as a little sister.
Her best kdrama kissing scene took place earlier this year in "Flower Boys Next Door." Her kisses with Yoon Si Yoon included an accidental kiss, which also shocked her enough to keep her eyes open. But her best kissing scene ever may be the end of that comedy when she seems quite enthusiastic. But then she said prior to that drama that Yoon Si Yoon was her ideal type.
Her kiss scenes with Lee Min Ho's character in "The Heirs" seemed to catch her off guard again. But that fit into the plot, as his character was aggressive and hers was fairly passive. They had a sampling of kisses, including the donut kiss and the rooftop kiss.
So far she has received kisses from Se7en, Jang Geun Suk, Jung Yong Hwa, Yoon Si Yoon, Joo Sang Wook, Lee Seung Gi, Yoo Seung Hoo  and Lee Min Ho. And she's only 23. She has a long career of kisses before her.

Second Male Lead Syndrome: A Kdrama Malady

Has watching "The Heirs" and "Future's Choice" given you second lead syndrome? If so, you're not alone. Both dramas have second leads that are appealing enough to make any heart waver.
While Lee Min Ho is the obvious choice for Park Shin Hye, viewers can not help but wish that tough-cut-secretly-sweet-guy Kim Woo Bin also has a chance at love. And in "Future's Choice," it didn't take a visit from Yoon Eun Hye's future self to make many viewers think she really should have chosen Jung Yong Hwa. He was so much nicer to her.
Second lead syndrome happens when you can't help but cheer on the second male lead and want the female lead to wind up with him.
Despite the fact that the second lead is usually much nicer to the heroine she almost always winds up with the male lead. In most dramas, there are signs that the two leads will get together but occasionally it's not so clear. Or you can't help but wish things might turn out differently for a change.
Appealing second leads are not unique to kdramas but the writes do have a way of developing such characters that make them seem particularly attractive.
Here are a few dramas that kept you guessing and hoping:
"Flower Boy Next Door"
Park Shin Hye falls for gamer Yoon Si Yoon and while he does deserve her affection for having convinced her to go out into the real world, you can't help but feel sorry for Kim Ji Hoon. Don't those two lonely souls belong together? And the fact that he created a webcomic about her would win most hearts.
Maybe the worst case of second lead syndrome can be experienced while watching Kim Sun Ah in "I do I do." Although she winds up in bed with Lee Chang Woo in the first episode, it's hard to consider him the actual male lead. He's irresponsible and a bit of a brat, a completely unsuitable choice. When she meets the doctor played by Park Gun Hyung, he is perfect. Neither of her suitors is always nice to her so its easy to root for her making the sensible choice.
"Flower Boy Ramen Shop"
While it may have seemed obvious that Lee Chung Ah would wind up with the spoiled baby chaebol played by Jung Il Woo, Lee Ki Woo was so ready to do whatever she needed that he was the more practical choice. Fortunately, in real life, Lee Chung Ah chose to date the second lead and has been seeing Lee Ki Woo.
The same thing happened in "Goddess of Fire: Jeonji." While Kim Bum did not get Moon Geun Young in the drama, viewers wanted to see them together. The drama did not satisfy viewers' desires but real life did. The two stars are now a real-life couple.

Star X Star Q&A: Stars asked and Jung Yong Hwa answered

CNBLUE’s Jung Yong-hwa is an idol star standing out both as a singer and as an actor. Jung Yong-hwa actually debuted as an actor not as a singer.
In 2009, Jung Yong-hwa made himself known to the public in SBS’s drama series ‘You Are Beautiful and drew attention as ‘Towel Guy. As soon as he debuted as CNBLUE, their songs ‘I’m a Loner and ‘Love’ made a big success. He appeared on variety shows such as MBC’s ‘We Got Married, SBS’s ‘Every Night, and SBS’s ‘Running Man’. He made a regular appearance on variety shows and, particularly, he was a guest who appeared on ‘Running Man’ most frequently.

Jung Yong-hwa quickly emerged as a top star both as a singer and as an actor without days of anonymity. He had excellent singing and acting abilities true to his reputation. As CNBLUE’s leader and main vocalist, he is good at song and lyrics writing. Most of songs in the album are his self-written songs. MBC’s drama series ‘You've Fallen for Me’ where Jung Yong-hwa appeared in 2011 had a low viewership rating, but he showed a potential as a man actor. Currently, Jung Yong-hwa is playing Park Se-ju, the undercover boss and the VJ of a TV Network in KBS2’s drama series ‘Marry Him If You Dare’. He is acting with Yoon Eun-hye and Lee Dong-gun. As Jung Yong-hwa has been active in many different areas, the questions of stars were diverse.

After School’s Uee and Jung Yong-hwa worked together in variety shows and dramas. They have in common in that they appeared in a modern drama for the first time through SBS’s ‘You Are Beautiful’. They served as supporting hosts together of SBS’s variety show ‘Every Night’. Uee is busy preparing for MBC’s drama series ‘Golden Rainbow’ to premiere on November 2.

Actress Yoon Eun-hye is the main actress of KBS2’s ‘Marry Him If You Dare’! Jung Yong-hwa plays the rich man Park Se-ju, who approaches Na Mi-rae (Yoon Eun-hye) that he was smitten by at first sight in Jeju Island without revealing his real identity.

The girl group AOA, who released their new song ‘Confused on October, met Jung Yong-hwa in person for the interview. As co-workers of the same agency, they support each other. AOA asked Jung Yong-hwa boldly and cutely.

Jung Yong-hwa drew attention with his face that looks alike with that of actor Jung Kyung-ho. Due to the similar appearance and the same last name, there was a rumor that they were brothers. IN addition, in 2007 when Jung Yong-hwa topped an online handsome guy contest as a high school third grader, he drew attention with the face looking like that of Jung Kyung-ho. Jung Kyung-ho is busy promoting the movie ‘Rollercoaster’ released on October 17.

Q. I heard a lot that you and I look alike. More specifically, Jung Yong-hwa looks like me, not I look like Jung Yong-hwa, because I am the older one (laugher)! I saw you in person a couple of times. We did not look similar. And Jung Yong-hwa is much more handsome (Why don’t we have a drink some time?)

Jung Yong-hwa: Sure, only if you call me (Where do you want me to wait for you?). I also get that a lot. I want to say sorry to you. You are gorgeous!
Jung Yong-hwa had appeared in KBS2’s ‘VJ Commando’ in 2006 before he debuted. At that time, Jung Yong-hwa appeared as an audition applicant and introduced himself as a person who dreams of being ‘another Lee Joon-gi’  Actor Lee Joon-gi and Jung Yong-hwa have in common in that they appeared in dramas written by the sisters Hong Jeong-eun and Hong Mi-ran. Lee Joon-gi, in SBS’s ‘My Girl, and, Jung Yong-hwa, in SBS’s ‘You Are Beautiful’, became a star after playing a character who firmly stands by the main female character.

Q. You are good at singing, guitar-playing, and even acting. How can you be so versatile? Please share your secret.
Jung Yong-hwa: Well, I want to do all of them really well. Please teach me!
2AM’s Cho Kwon and Jung Yong-hwa became friends through a variety show. They appeared in MBC’s ‘We Got Married as a couple with Ga-in from Brown Eyed Girls and Seo-hyun from GIRLS’ GENERATION, respectively. After that, they served as the hosts together of SBS’s ‘The Music Trend’ for a year.

Q. Jung Yong-hwa is very versatile! Which one do you want to choose between a singer and an actor if you have to?

Jung Yong-hwa: If I need to pick one, it is a singer. If many people want me to see on TV as an actor, too, I want to do both of them.

Q. I am enjoying watching ‘Marry Him If You Dare’. If you can go to the future, what year do you want to be in? Why?

Jung Yong-hwa: Hum. I like being in the present. If I have to, well, I really don’t want to go to the future! I am really happy now. I am doing the music I like as CNBLUE while enjoying filming ‘Marry Him If You Dare’ as Park Se-ju.
Actress Kim Yun-hye, who worked under the stage name Woori, played the perfect high school girl Cha Na-ra in KBS’s sitcom ‘I Need a Fairy and Kae-geum’s first love Yun Seo-yeong in tvN’s drama series ‘Flower Boys Next Door. She were with Jung Yong-hwa in MBC’s ‘You’ve Fallen for Me’.

Q. I enjoy watching ‘Marry Him If You Dare’! You must be very busy and tired due to the filming of the drama. Do you have your own way of taking care of your health or relieving stress?

Jung Yong-hwa: Sleeping in your spare time is the best. By the way, how are you doing, Yun-hye? I am sad that I could not see you since 'You’ve Fallen for Me’.

Q. You play a man who has everything in ‘Marry Him If You Dare’. If Se-ju can choose the personality, face, and body of his spouse, what would be Se-ju’s choice? (Please be specific!)

Jung Yong-hwa: This is a challenging question... In fact, the personality matters most to me. It would be perfect if she has the personality, face, and body Yoon Eun-hye.

Q. ‘Marry Him If You Dare’ is your third project. What roles do you want to play?

Jung Yong-hwa: I want to do anything. Anything would be fun.

Actress Go Doo-shim and Jung Yong-hwa are a grandmother and a grandson in ‘Marry Him If You Dare’. In fact, the actress says that she did not know who Jung Yong-hwa was before meeting him through ‘Marry Him If You Dare’. In the press briefing of ‘Marry Him If You Dare’, she said, “I heard from others that he was a very famous person.” She said that they had fun filming scenes together as if they had known each other for years.

Q. This is my first time to work with you, but I feel familiar with you. I like that. You were very attractive as a singer, too. What is the difference between acting and singing? And I heard that you are enjoying an amazing popularity in Southeast Asia. Is it true?

Jung Yong-hwa: I think that you made me feel comfortable from the beginning. Thank you! As a singer, it is the biggest charm to see responses from audience immediately as I sing or move for about two hours. As an actor, it is very tempting to live a life of another person. Regarding Southeast Asia.., how do I mention the popularity by myself? Thank you for always treating me kind.

Actor Lee Dong-gun and Jung Yong-hwa are friends from the same agency. They are appearing in the same drama ‘Marry Him If You Dare’. In addition, Lee Dong-gun and Jung Yong-hwa have a similar face. They have a special relation!

Q. Park Se-ju is a man of a twist. What is your twist?

Jung Yong-hwa: My twist? I laugh and talk a lot among people, but I like being alone quietly with aroma candles on at home.

Q. We are enjoying watching ‘Marry Him If You Dare’ as well. Your character Park Se-ju seemed to be confused to see Na Mi-rae (Yoon Eun-hye) at first sight. Have you recently had a similar experience?

Jung Yong-hwa: Well, I am confused to see AOA (laughter)? I am enjoying watching AOA performing on stage.  At our agency’s building, I took a picture in a sofa, which was used for AOA’s ‘Sofa Dance’. I do not have any experience that you asked about.

Jung Yong-hwa, who were successful both in singing and acting, received questions from stars on his activities as a singer and as an actor. They were interested in the drama series ‘Marry Him If You Dare’. Most of the stars said words of support to him. Jung Yong-hwa responded with his own short but humble answers, which revealed his key to success. The secret was his positive energy where he makes consistent efforts and enjoys his work. We look forward to his future as CNBLUE and as an actor.
